Radio Frequency Technicians (RF tech)

Telecommunications Aerial Linesman, General Laborers

Telecommunications Aerial Linesman, General Laborers

 We are seeking enthusiastic Radio Frequency (RF) Technicians with  experience working in an outdoor Coax plant. 

Candidates should have experience with Line Extenders, Trunks, Nodes, Taps, and splitters, and  at least one year of RF experience. skills, and expertise to handle any project, big or small. 


 Responsibilities 

  • Work unsupervised 

 We are seeking enthusiastic Radio Frequency (RF) Technicians with  experience working in an outdoor Coax plant. 

Candidates should have experience with Line Extenders, Trunks, Nodes, Taps, and splitters, and  at least one year of RF experience. skills, and expertise to handle any project, big or small. 


 Responsibilities 

  • Work unsupervised on various tasks.
  • Perform occasional overnight shifts to minimize customer impact.
  • Conduct general troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all work is held to a minimum of the clients best practice standards.
  • Follow technical prints, maps, and technical informational diagrams.


 Qualifications 

  • Valid G driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in all types of weather.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  • Computer hardware knowledge is an asset.


 Job Details

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Monday to Friday
  •  Competitive pay and overtime opportunities 
  • Minimum of 1 year in telecommunications (preferred).
  • In person, preferably within 1 hour of the Guelph/Brantford area.  
  • Company take home vehicle.

 We are seeking individuals who can assist in the building and maintaining and repairing overhead and underground  communication lines (like fiber optic or coax cable lines), while also handling general site labor tasks. 

Ideally candidates should have experience with Coax and Fiber Optic cables in both Aerial and Underground locations.

Ideally candidates should have experience with Coax and Fiber Optic cables in both Aerial and Underground locations.


 Responsibilities 

  • Work unsupervised on various tasks.
  • Perform occasional overnight shifts to minimize customer impact.
  • Conduct general troubleshooting.
  •  Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications lines.
  •  Work on utility poles and elevated structures using ladders, bucket trucks, or climbing gear. 
  •  String cables between poles and secure them properly.
  •  Follow construction prints, maps, and technical diagrams.
  •  Ensure all work meets safety regulations and company standards.


 Qualifications 

  • Valid G driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Proficient with towing trailers around. (forward or backwards)
  • Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in all types of weather.
  • Comfortable digging holes by hand in necessary 
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  • It would be an asset if the candidate had good working knowledge with or around Mini Excavators.


 Job Details

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities.
  • Minimum of 1 year in telecommunications (preferred).

Fiber Optic Splicers

Fiber Optic Splicers

 We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Splicer who has the versatility to work both in the RF and Fiber Optic side of Telecommunications.

To install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cables for telecommunications networks with at least a willingness to learn the RF side of the Technical world. 

The ideal candidate has hands-on experien

 We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Splicer who has the versatility to work both in the RF and Fiber Optic side of Telecommunications.

To install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cables for telecommunications networks with at least a willingness to learn the RF side of the Technical world. 

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Single or Ribbon fusion splicing, troubleshooting, and working in both aerial and underground environments. 


 Responsibilities 

  • Work unsupervised on various tasks.
  • Perform occasional overnight shifts to minimize customer impact.
  • Conduct general troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all work is held to a minimum of the clients best practice standards.
  •  Read and interpret network diagrams, splice schematics, and blueprints.
  • Ensure proper fiber handling, routing, and protection standards are followed. 
  • Install enclosures, splice closures, and termination panels. 


 Qualifications 

  • Valid G driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Proficient with towing trailers around. (forward or backwards)
  • Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in all types of weather.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  •  Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. 
  • Proven experience as a fiber optic splicer or similar role. 
  • Proficiency with fusion splicing equipment and testing tools.
  •  Certification (e.g., FOA or equivalent) is an asset.
